This year's Winter Solstice will prove to be very interesting for human consciousness and its spiritual awakenings.
As always the Winter Solstice occurs as the Sun moves into Capricorn highlighting the potential for success, and the 'right way of doing things'. There have been many crises that have occurred this year such as the ongoing global debt crisis; political repression and the general dissatisfaction of the world community; the humanitarian crisis in Syria, as well as extreme weather events leading to catastrophe such as the Philippines Typhoon.
The Sun in Capricorn helps us to keep calm and methodically and patiently achieve our objectives. Now we can get through a mountain of work if we have to, and through patience put new structures in place. With the UK position of the Sun being in the 6th house, the workplace is where our organisational skills and ability to serve others really can come to the fore. This can go a long way towards helping to alleviate the sufferings of humanity. The only problem is the health of our own economy is drained and the outlook may be still fairly pessimistic contrary to what the government tells us. However, Capricorn likes to do things that are worthwhile—and like other Earth signs, needs to feel valued and favourable in the world in order to be fulfilled. The UK could gain recognition on the world stage by having a better ability to appreciate what motivates human society and its set of ideas, principles, and agreements, and that it can be an essential and integral element within that framework.
This is an excellent time to be resourceful, take more responsibility and become more creative when it comes to the well being of the planet. With the Sun and retrograde Venus making positive aspects to the star of Scheat we need to push forwards with grand schemes and plans about becoming more self supporting and sufficient even if some of the ways of thinking are unconventional.
Also, we have an aspect pattern between Jupiter, Pluto and Vesta reaching its peak on the same day as the solstice. There are vast energies at work here trying to search for an outlet for expression. If used wisely it can be the time for great accomplishments. Retrograde Jupiter located in Cancer helps us to feel as though the world is our family and there will be a strong urge to look after this family either through more concern and compassion; or by giving money to lessen mass distress. However, our determined efforts may mean that we are willing to stray from the correct way of doing things. We may be over forceful with opinions even though they may actually be right! This is because these energies bring to the fore a style of communication that seems closed off, extremist or downright weird. Finding a middle ground is better at this time and it may be more worthwhile to create change from within rather than trying to tear down the whole structure of something just to make a stand.
Every creature has a purpose of presence. The power of love and sympathy for the suffering of others often including a desire to help; for all living beings creates confidence and reliance on good qualities - especially fairness, truth and honour all over the world. Humanity needs to see itself as a rough diamond that now needs polishing. It is the time to look at how we can improve ourselves through small changes that make us more effective and better ourselves to reach a higher potential.
It is impossible to avoid or to prevent from happening the repetition of events the like of which we have witnessed recently, but what we can do is to start to see these events helping us to extend beyond or transcending the personal and the ego; to recognise ourselves as a family of human beings, living together and functioning as a single unit, related in origin and as one organism, adapting and responding to change together, as one in joint effort.

Book review of Aspects of Reality - Marian Matthews.
In her book Aspects of Reality the author discusses the place humanity takes within the grander scheme of the Universe and the nature of our role in it as human beings. She asks pertinent questions about the nature of consciousness, and what life is really about. With a down to earth and personal approach she covers lots of different ideas and areas of knowledge and she gives her own life experience and observations up freely for the reader to make their own assumptions and conclusions.
It is a highly engaging and thought provoking text that will appeal to anyone who is interested in the deeper meanings of life. Psychology students and those inclined to think outside the box will enjoy the ideas presented in this book. With its common sense approach and well presented material I'm sure it won't be the last of its kind to be produced by Matthews and I'm very much looking forward to reading her next material on the subject.
The author's curiosity and open minded approach to answering age old questions in an informal and unobtrusive manner may just break some of the myths presented in mainstream education. She journeys through the different world views with the intent to shed light on what is and what is not truth amongst these views. With Spiritual teachings with what is presented as Quantum Physics drawing parallels and offering discourse about the similarities in the systems. Definitely a tome worthy of revisiting regularly.
We are getting ready to go on an adventure here at the Enlightening Times and we hope you'll join us. International TV Star & Author Ashley Cowie
Ashley Cowie is a Scottish author, archaeological explorer, lecturer and TV host on an international stage. Born and raised in a small fishing village on the north coast of Scotland Ashley established and ran the UK's first seafood trading company supplying only fish caught from sustainable stocks. His family proudly own and run the UK’s Seafood Restaurant of the Year. In his late 20’s Ashley sold his seafood businesses and began the full time study of a broad range of historic subjects, becoming an authority on pre-historic symbols, metrology and archaeostronomy. The Rope Age
Skara Brae on the North coast of Mainland Orkney is, at the time of writing, the oldest Neolithic settlement in Europe. Professor Gordon Childe of Glasgow University excavated the site in the 1930's and secured the buildings. Many of the artifacts he recovered: shards of pottery, carved stones and bones and items of jeweler, depict similar symbols. Comparing these artefacts and symbols to similar examples found in contemporary cultures around the world, a fresh interpretation of the items recovered from Skara Brae can be established - relating to cordage production crafts. This lecture offers a voyage into the cordage skills and survival crafts of the ancient inhabitants.
Egyptian rope crafts and the evolution of Geometry
Every year after the Nile receded, for taxation purposes, Egyptian surveyor’s re-measured lands with simple wooden tools, ropes and pegs. Greek Geometers later translated these rope crafts onto clay tablets and the eggs of geometry were hatched. Greek geometry and astronomy are discussed highlighting the influence of Greece in the development of western sciences and symbols.
Navigators of the North
Myths, symbols, rituals and folk traditions often encapsulate elements of astronomy, navigation and place determination sciences. How to read a Church
Churches, and their architectural features, were used as vessels to deliver content. Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 as a collegiate church - cruciform in shape. Building works ceased in 1484 and the structure remains incomplete. However, establishing the governing geometry, the building module and the foundational measurements applied by the designers, a ground plan for the original building can be completed.
Modern Minds and Ancient Symbols
Many of the most famous modern buildings and monuments display ancient symbols – but why? Analyzing the ancient symbols and influences in these structures takes us closer to the minds of the architects and their original meaning. Ritual Vs Survival
During the second excavation at Skara Brae, a number of the artifacts recovered were categorized as 'probably for ritual or ceremonial purposes'. To establish if these items were actually ‘ritual or ceremonial’, we must first consider all their potential practical uses, in day to day activities. This analysis reveals that all of the items can be used in the preparation of materials and tools for building and survival.

Although human remains have been recovered from these structures, many have astronomical significance and have been aligned to local geographical features. You are perfect, regardless of your perceived imperfections! You are whole and complete, even when you feel shattered. You are a spiritual being, even when you feel human. You never need fixed, even when you feel broken.
Every perceived imperfection is an opportunity for growth and evolution, when you feel broken, it’s because you’re been given an opportunity to re-build stronger than ever. No “matter” how broken we may think we are, we are one with all that is, and so can never be anything but complete.
Al-Khemi is Arabic for the black land and was a reference to the fertile soils in Egypt, a location where the art can be traced back historically with archeological evidence. This lineage historically dates back to ancient Egypt roughly 7,000 years ago. The tradition was carried on in secret for a variety of reasons over the ages, most notably by the Rosicrucian brotherhood, or the Fraternal Order of the Rose Croix.
In our modern times it has been referred to as the once and future science by Dr. Albert Reidel (1911–1984) who came to Salt Lake City Utah in the 1930’s to escape the war that was brewing in Germany. In the 1970’s he founded the Paracelsus Research Society. His approach was consistent with Paracelsus who determined the three essentials of matter which are: salt, sulphur, and mercury. These are really code words for energies that are contained within all matter and are not actually table salt and the mineral sulphur or the metallic mercury. Dr Reidel taught that all matter contains a soul (sulphur), a body (salt) and a spirit (mercury) and this can be proven with laboratory exercises.
Alchemy also teaches us through observation about the aetheric energies associated with earth, air, wind, and fire. When these four elements are in balance a fifth element or quintessence is created."
Dr. Reidel was a pioneer in the hermetic philosophy and the esoteric practice called Alchemy, which is an advanced system of “vibrational” medicine based on correspondences with plants, metals, planets, and organs. These medicines act like tuning forks, and when applied to the body they instigate the organs to operate optimally, removing any blockages, and disease.
The user will experience some discomfort during the process, especially if they have a net deficit of the life force energy, or Quintessence, or if they have blockages. According to the book “Real Alchemy” (page 61) by Robert Bartlett who was a student of Dr. Reidel …”This is the Divine Spark hidden in all things, the reflection of Celestial Fire. … it is the most purified and fixed part of a matter, formed by the perfect balance of the Four Elements. This harmony between opposing forces of the Elements, brings forth a whole new and exalted state, the Fifth Element or Quintessence. Its action is digestive and maturing. It drives the transpiration and subtilization of the elements upward to regenerate fire.
We can magnify the effects when we coordinate these influences. There are many similarities with the Ayurvedic tradition, and the products that we produce with alchemy can be used in conjunction with the advice of a licensed ayurvedic physician.
Sir Isaac Newton, Paracelsus, John Dees, and Sir Frances Bacon were just a handful of the people that practiced alchemy over the past centuries. There is a pre ponderous of evidence in the historic texts if one cares to research the matter further.
With the advent of quantum physics we are finding that much of what the alchemists knew are finally being proven with scientific methodology and modern instrumentation.

First of all I want you to lay down and relax, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth, after a while of repeating this, I want you to visualize that you are laying on a cloud, a soft, fluffy, warm comfortable and colorful cloud.
The cloud, as you are laying on it, is of a rainbow-like color with silver and gold in it as well. As you are laying there you start to feel as though the cloud is taking you somewhere, its going upward, more and more, as you are laying there you can not help but wonder what you are feeling beneath you.. You feel as though there are small bolts of lightening going from head to toe, as you feel these bolts going through you, it feels as though your negative emotions are being pulled away from you by this lightening.
The cloud is now at the top of a mountain, and it has stopped for you to get off of. As you are walking around you feel as though you have been there many times before. Out of the corner of your eye, you see that there is a bonfire, blue fire, with a man sitting there, roasting marshmallows. This man you have known your whole life, he is your guardian, taking a moment or two you and him have much to talk about..
A Very long pause before continuing on with the meditation.. After having a talk with your guardian you start to feel like the weight of the universe has been lifted off of you, you feel like the stress has left you and entering you is this feeling of happiness and joy all into one.. As you start to walk towards the cloud, you turn around for one last look before going back home, then lay back down on the cloud.. As you feel the cloud moving, you start feeling a bit tired and fall asleep as the cloud goes to your next journey into the dream world... Dana Neeley 2012

It actually doesn’t matter at all whether the information they receive through the crystal skull is delivered in the perceived form of telepathy, clairvoyance or simply impressions, emotions or sensations.
