Collaborative Dream Activism

What's so amazing about Dream Activism?

Anyone can do it
Has powerful impact
Practical application generates an unconventional activism

You may have heard people like Dr. Bruce Lipton say "Heal yourself heal the planet." Let’s face it healing ourselves is a gargantuan task! Humans may have advanced like gangbusters on the science and technological front, yet on the emotional and spiritual growth fronts, we find ourselves sitting squarely at the early adolescent phase. Healing and growth is definitely in order – but how?
Here’s what I believe: working with your dreams is one of the most basic, personal, inexpensive, powerful types of activism you can engage in. Dreams reveal all manner of unknown-knowing, emotions, perceptions, attitudes and patterns of behavior that need our conscious attention. Working with our dreams heals us at the personal level.

Now here’s the key. Each of our efforts to heal ourselves at our individual level is something ONLY the individual can do. I can’t do it for you and you can’t do it for me, yet it has to be done to heal the planet. When we heal ourselves, we powerfully change the initiating fractal of EVERYTHING in our world.

Let me go one step further tell you what else I believe: dream activism can lead us to discern practical actions that will facilitate the healing of relationships with people, land, money, the past, the future, the good, the bad, AND the ugly. But to do all that we first must begin to learn the language our dreams speak and get the conversation underway between ourselves and whatever you call the Universe or Source.

I’ll tell you how I know all this. Well that and how I came to work on a Facebook page with a wonderful tribe of people we call Collaborative Dream Activists, and why I invite you to get acquainted, maybe even come work with us. But first, let me share a dream I had this week.

I’m somewhere that I have figured out that global warming has caused all the ice to melt in the world’s oceans. Where the surface of the ice used to reflect the heat back out into the atmosphere, now the water is absorbing that heat, causing climate change that threatens the entire Earth and her inhabitants.

Suddenly I have this awareness that if I tie a solar panel reflector to my back, I can reflect a tiny bit of the sun’s light back out into the atmosphere. Further, if all of us tie a solar panel to our back, we collectively will reflect out the heat that is endangering us all.

The dream seems to end where I see an infinite winding path packed with humans carrying these solar reflectors on their backs. Together we are leveraging the very thing that factored greatly into getting us into this mess – ourselves - to individually do the very work the ice can no longer do for us. As the line extends beyond my vision, I can see that our efforts are effective. In the process of individually addressing the challenge, we save ourselves and the planet.
This dream segment is one of many I am guided to working with as I heal a major theme of fear and helplessness I feel when projecting what humanity’s future looks like without major changes now. The dream shows me making progress as I address the powerlessness I wrestle with in waking life to impact, my individual as well as humanity’s collective, sustainability.
My own exploration of the power of dreaming with intention began in the mid-2000’s. Back then I was battling a pervading sense of powerlessness as I surveyed the potential individual and collective landscapes rolling out in front of me, I was. Personally my economic, marriage, and health landscapes were looking frightfully unsustainable. At the collective level phrases like "corporate social responsibility" and "prioritize people, planet, profit" were well ensconced in the public relations arena, even as government and corporate interests actively undermined all sustainability efforts rumored to stand in the way of the almighty revenue stream.

During that time I had an unexpected business development opportunity fall in my lap. I was to meet with Director of the Center for Global Business and the Economy at a United States ivy league institution’s graduate school of business. The economy had tanked, and I was in dire need of new clients. This providential opportunity seemed like an invitation to solidify a powerful new connection and bring in new clients. My personal economic sustainability could be restored if I could just impress the gentleman I was set to meet eight weeks hence. Voila!

EXCEPT, the drawback was I had not graduated high school, much less college. My fear of being perceived as "unqualified" weighed heavy.  The full story is in the audio interview at this link http://bridge2vision.com/library.html  but suffice to say, this was when I was desperate enough to try something unconventional. A series of synchronicities led me to prepare for my meeting (a practical action) using my dreams, seeded each night by the question "What should I do tomorrow to prepare for this meeting?"

The next eight weeks I began to learn my own language with Source, actively, intentionally tapping into my own unknown-knowing through my dreams. This effort yielded all kinds of "right-brained" data in the form of symbols, synchronicities, and leads that I doggedly followed.

The talent I had brought to the corporate world was an ability to listen, gather individual awareness and insight, and weave it together into a "sum" that was greater than the parts – the end products would then be used for training, calibrating, communicating, etc.
About five weeks into my eight week process I had a dream that indicated I was to apply the same approach I used in my corporate work to mindmap, then generate a collective knowing summary. Using all my own dream and synchronicity data bits (ideas, interviews, books, impromptu speaking engagements etc.), I wove together the resulting theory, and prepared a presentation that would show the gentleman I was to meet how I gathered data from disparate sources and generated an end product that communicated a collective understanding.

I traveled to my meeting armed with an example of my work as well as the theory that this process had taught me. It wasn’t a rocket science theory, some people already understood my new awareness, I just now knew it for myself, having learned it in this unconventional way.

My dream-generated theory articulated I am/you are the basic building block to global sustainability - ergo global sustainability begins with discovering our own personal sustainability. Like they say, heal yourself, heal the planet.
My theory also gave me some strong awareness around how to recover personal sustainability.

In a nutshell working with my dreams showed me the path to our personal sustainability picks up the pace when an individual hits a rubber-meets-the-road experience that takes us lower than we have ever been and from which we have no idea how to recover. In desperation we finally abandon familiar patterns that no longer work and try something unconventional, like using dreams and synchronicity, to reveal practical action that will help recover our personal sustainability.

Following the dream data I learned the "unconventional" approach involves turning to our right brain, intuition, Spirit or Source, or the Divine, whatever you call it, to tap into the infinite creative source. It is there we discover infinite love, healing and ultimately articulate our soul’s purpose to ourselves. Whatever right brain way you do it, painting, music, dancing, stand-up comedy, dreaming, environmental restoration projects, needlepoint, writing, etc. - the collaboration with creative source will heal you, provide insight, and allow you to trust that within the vast creative source you will always find answers you need to sustain whatever part of yourself is endangered.
From personal experience, I know this process reveals time and again that each of us has access to a bandwidth of wisdom and creativity that awaits our engagement.

Others have said this before me, but now I KNOW from personal experience: to heal the planet, first we have to heal individually, then heal each other, then in our healed, loving and expansive state we will collectively create and innovate our way through the challenge of healing the planet - otherwise known as global sustainability.

All of which brings me back to the Collaborative Dream Activist group. In the way I used right-brained activities like dreaming and synchronicity to tap my own unknown–knowing, this group does the same. Then we collaborate using the power of our combined left-brains to discern the practical action our "right-brain data" infers.

There are a few differences of course: The first is the intention statement we go to sleep with:

"I am grateful to be living in a Multiverse filled with peace, harmony, and balance for all sentient beings"

Secondly, moving out of isolation, we work collaboratively to strengthen our personal understanding of our individual language with the Universe. As individuals are inspired to post a dream they had, members consider the imagery represented and if inspired, share what the imagery means to them, what questions it calls for them to answer. Eventually we weave it all together and discern what practical action could be taken. The more we engage in this conversation with the Universe, the more we understand our personal language, and now in this group – our "tribe’s language accent." From there we generate an understanding of the practical action the Universe is calling for us to do in support of the group’s stated intention.

Unconventional? Yes.
Results Oriented? Yes.

Open to anyone inspired to hold our intention, dream, and collaborate from anywhere in the world? Yes.

This tribe has been convening for just a few short months, but the insight and synchronicities between us is nothing we could have strategized. Inspired to come check it out? Enlightening Times Movie & Docu-Film Reviews

“12 to 12”

 Short Film Review

A day-in-the-life biopic of local artist Art Morera as he works to find balance between his personal life and his aspiring career as an MC.

When a message begins with a quote from John Lennon, you’re always going to be at least a little curious about what’s to come.  As the movie opens to the artist Art Moreno on stage, the film title flashes on screen and the nostalgic stirrings within bring Eminem’s, 2002 film “8 Mile” to mind, with the promise of something powerful to come.

Curious and wondering I watched as scene by scene I waited for the promise to be fulfilled but unfortunately for me I never felt quite satiated with what came next.  The story at times seemed to drag rather than flow along, and the lag resulted in less than full appreciation of the this excellent production , I feel 12 to 12 never quite lived it up to its potential. At times I found my attention wandering as the voices became lost in the music.

As the final scenes and the music once again became the main feature, I realised that, as it was in the beginning, it is in the end. As once again my curiosity was piqued and I began wondering about the artist Art Moreno and what he might create in the future.

Robbers: a poem (inspired by a recent dream)

Presenting themselves in clean skins,
The robbers travel from afar to take, treasure and lives,
Good and honest men and women – from a looking glass view –
Blinded by lenses forged in the cold darkness of polar thought.
The robbers preach an ancient thousands-years-old tapestry,
Now rewoven in intricate patterns of modern trickstering, laws,
Deciphered only by those who can see the newest incarnation preachers,
For who they really are: Conjurers of empty chalice and poisonous drink.

Clothed in deceit, the court jester, the robber leader, performs his best for the royal patrons,
Apparently unaware he in fact stands in the nude.
Ever convinced and confident of his sly dance – a delusions of grandeur high step –
Driven on by the whips of those who own him, a conductor in residence, the court jester parlays.
Bought and paid for from the windy city streets of his own in-consequence,
He sends out the good men and women, robbers, who’ve signed on,
To unwittingly rob those on the other side of the world (and at home, too),
Those who now live and die below a foreign, dirty bald eagle, its shadow threateningly undulating across a burnt earth.

Some of the robed men from their scorched homes promise to avenge the deaths – of their wives and of their mothers, of their fathers and of their sons and of their daughters – someone will pay, the dept.
But probably not the robbers themselves – no, probably the robbers will not, personally, pay.
(Nor will the court jester, their leader, pay.)
For they cannot be reached, safely fenced, in fact and in dogma.
Instead the robbers mount their remote thrones,
And watch the gamed world below unfold in tacit images of nothing that matters, to them.
For payment the robbers will be wined and dined in colorful ribbons of glory, pinned on chests, puffed,
Hearts and minds intoxicated by lies and indifference.
They are sad-false heroes who kill for what the puppet masters want, from the earth and from the people,
And to defend the mirage in which they themselves live: the illusion of freedom and democracy.
Thus the robbers crosshair those who get in the way and fight back;
They aim to extinct those who are likewise lost in the righteous wood,
¬– but who nonetheless have the right to fight, back, for the right of their voice, for the life of their choice –
While also killing those who just seem, a little suspicious,
Or those not even that, at all, “by accident.”

In the end the robber leaders will die, eventually,
Perhaps morally ill-equipped to face their torrid roles,
For that would require them accepting their lives were full of...
Nothing.
They will die old and comfortable in their white houses, on the hill, paid for by the riches of the billions,
Their messes left for their and your and my children,
To clean up.

Astrology and Power by David Rowan

In a profound sense, the most potent power is found in the absence of force; the greatest power is to master yourself - the greatest mystery is how to do it. The greatest fear is to know well yourself - the greatest strength you'll ever know is to change your inner world ...

In Astrology, different types of power are represented by different symbols: The Sun, Jupiter, Mars and Pluto symbolise the fiery, most observable forms of power. Neptune, Venus and the Moon represent the dynamics of love and Mercury and Uranus represent different octaves of thought and comprehension. Each of these symbols represents many meanings (they are polysemous) and they can be grouped in a variety of different ways. This note, as the title suggests, is about power. The confines of this medium means we can only take a cursory glance; in my classes we would discuss each of these symbols; the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto, each for three or four days - here, one has to be concise, rather than thorough and although this means we cannot explore them in great detail, it is possible to glance through the window into the realms of power ...

The Astrological symbol for the Sun is a dot within a circle:

It is reported that modern theologians have looked at the biblical expression, 'God made man in his own image', and concluded that if anything, God is word we use to describe the generative force of the power of creation. Whether you follow the notion of, ' man in god's image' or the Hermetic perspective of, 'As above so below', the conclusion is that the nature of being human is one of being a generative force. .. We are generative, creative beings and we each have authorship of the pathways of our lives (including casting ... lol). We have no innate power over external people or events, though we can have influence and employ persuasion, seduction, ruthlessness, enthusiasm, fear and common sense logic to charm, enchant, captivate, order or control; these may, or may not, be enduring and those which employ some form of force may be ultimately unsatisfying and ineffective in a long-term or deeper sense. We do, however, have the inner power, at some level, of determining how we respond to circumstances and what we can draw from even the most arduous experience. A lot of our reactions to experience are coloured by unconscious, conditioned (learned) responses and, with certain techniques from modern applied psychology, these can be adjusted, changed and re-designed. One of the greatest sources of inner power is knowing, not just intellectually, but viscerally knowing that we are the authors of experience. The steps and decisions, responses and reactions we took in the past has led to where we are now; it is true to say, is it not, that every single thing you have ever done in your life a has led you to reading these words right now ... and how  you react or respond to these words, the internal narrative you are having, the inner-images you are seeing, will colour the orientation of the next steps you take into your future ...

The Astrological symbol for Mars, is that of an arrow reaching out from a central point; a circle ...

The power of self expression is inherent within all life forms; the reaching of a flower toward the sun, the reaching of a hand toward an apple ... when we express our nature we take our place in the scheme of creation - however, self expression can take many forms and it may be wisest to do so as if one has kindness set as the default in one's heart ...

In the human experience, self expression can be thwarted: inhibited, dominated, controlled, modified, adapted, suppressed, oppressed, repressed etc. Self expression can also be directed: assertion, exuberance, enthusiasm, creativity, initiative etc. It is my astrological opinion that depression, which is different to sadness or even a forlorn absence of hope (things symbolised by Neptune); depression has two primary roots; symbolised by Mars and Saturn and this perspective on depression is best explored in an article in its own right. At least, that is what I believe ...

The Astrological symbol for Jupiter is a crescent, poised at the start of a sojourn through time and space, represented by the cross of matter:

During our journey of life through time and space we think we have free-will, but perhaps complete free-will is an illusion. Our brain is situated within a neurochemical environment ... our comprehension of reality; the narrative of meaning we give to what we experience,  is situated within our epigentic potentials, our personal history to date, our ontological position, our socio-affective environment, our immediate social relations, our culture; memes and discourses, our politics and ideology, our national and spiritual identity ... all of which form the building blocks of what we believe to be true. Beliefs are very powerful and form the context within which we conduct the making of meaning; we then form decisions based on what we believe to be true  and act upon these decisions whilst believing our understanding of reality to be a an unshakable fact - the Truth. There are currently 6.9 billion humans on earth, each with their own niche viewpoint of the universe and unique perspective on 'reality'. We are, however, relational beings and form alliances based on the common ground of our shared reality. We do not share all of the model of our own niche reality, much of it is unconscious ... this description of reality is, of course, not true; it is a statement of my current beliefs about the nature of our, or rather my, reality ...

The Astrological symbol for Pluto shows the circle of the spirit, elevated above the crescent of the soul which is established above the cross of matter ...

From an esoteric perspective, this symbol represents the  'rightful' order of things ...  however, if the Soul/psyche has some intellectual, psychological or emotional distortions, or unresolved issues, in its dynamics there may be a gap between 'what is' and 'what seems to be'. The symbol of Pluto shows everything in perfect alignment. If we have moved away from our true spiritual path then your inner being will bring those facets of your life back into alignment by influencing your unconscious to create, through behaviours and actions, the perfect environment in which those issues can be clearly identified and worked with. In other words, we somehow conspire to make our circumstances 'fit' the issues we need to learn, and, like a 'cosmic tuning fork' our inner-being resonates with the external circumstances and the 'trapped' feelings come to the surface for transformation and re-integration into the psyche.

The symbol of Pluto shows us the natural order of things from the perspective of life within spirit; a window upon the land of light from which we emerge into this life and to which we return as this journey passes into the greatest adventure of all.

The word transformation, describes the process in which something changes form; thee old passes into something new ... Empowerment describes an experience of being conscious of  our ability to play a role in the shaping of our life and the path we are taking. C J Jung once said, 'Some things cannot be changed, they are merely out grown'. Change can often seem disempowering and yet we can step into empowerment by embracing change and using it as an opportunity to write a new chapter in life ... Death is a word we use to describe an ending, however, endings are the prelude to new beginnings; when winter dies, spring is born .... the death of spring heralds the birth of summer; the death of poverty is the birth of wealth - the death of wealth is the birth of poverty ... when a caterpillar dies a butterfly is born ... Change is the only constant, and the only thing one can guarantee in life. Everything flows in cycles and every point in a cycle has its season. When change is occurring one can mourn the passing of the old by casting the attention of one's eye to that which is passing - or - one can instead, place the eye of one's attention to designing the new chapter; how best to draw the best from new circumstances and what actions can one take in order for the new chapter to be even better ?  ... how can I change myself in order to blossom in the spring of new change ... :)

‘A human being is part of the whole, called by us 'universe,' a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself part of the liberation, and a foundation for inner security’.

A Classroom Socialism Experiment that Shows Not Much Really!

I seen this post circulating on Facebook the other day and I have to say it pushed a button of mine. Yes, it was my button and after a little check-in I decided it's one I'm happy to own. Not because I think Socialism is the answer to where humanity is right now but because the suggestion and pre-suppositions contained within this post are simply ludicrous. The post creates limited and separatist thinking that is not exactly helpful at this time in the World at this time. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not one for buying into any labels, ideas and concepts, as all will inevitably lead to limited thinking, and socialism is no exception.

Matrix

I know it may appear a little cynical of me circulation of this post, at this time seemed to suggest that those of us who want to achieve fundamental change, are all looking for the creation of a Socialist society when actually what we want is to create something new that serves the world more than Capitalism is at this time. I don't have all the answers and I don't claim to, but I am sure that amongst us we can come up with something that is much fairer for all members of team humanity, and as they say when a problem exists the solution also exists, otherwise there would be no problem. In other words, we have the answers already! The potential and possibilities are endless when we're open minded and willing to dream.

We're all seeing more clearly than ever that the practice of discernment has never been more important than it is now, there is so much information and dis-information out there, that it can be hard to find the truth but your body always knows, so let it guide you wisely through the maze.

This post got me right in the gut, or what I now would refer to as the core of my being. I've posted the original post with my thoughts added in blue for you to see what I see when I look at it. It will also give you an idea how people who understand the workings of the mind watch the news and the other propaganda that comes through the google-box.

CLASSROOM SOCIALISM
Classroom Socialism

Is this man truly a genius? (Lovely little unconscious suggestion)

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. Hmm..seems to suggest that Obama is a puritanical Socialist, he may have socialist leanings but let's face it so do many, doesn't make him Karl Marx does it? For the record, this isn't about Obama at all to me. I'm sure as the year continues there will be many times to discuss Obama here in future, for now just pretend he's not been mentioned as although he is, the post really is about Socialism and not him.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an “A”.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all). Are Uni student's really that thick?

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a “B”. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. Suggests the only difference between grades is the amount of work involved on one essay, rather than a culmination of past work.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a “D”! No one was happy. And here's when it starts to get really interesting, are you seeing the suggestion yet? So Socialism makes no-one happy because everyone would rather be lazy lay-abouts hmm.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the new average was an “F”. Argh..help it's getting worse and worse!

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. The world is full of selfish, lazy slobs who will do nothing for no-one!

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Generalisation, generalisation, generalisation!!

Human nature will always cause socialism's style of government to fail because the world has producers and non-producers (makers and takers). Hmm...once again generalisation! The world is filled with many types of wonderful people not just "makers" and "takers". This was based on an experiment with a group of University students who were obviously educated and most probably healthy and wealthy too. What about vulnerable members of society, do we just pretend they don't exist, because it's easier to have a black and white arguement, and no, that's not about race lol!

It could not be any simpler than that. Or pretending it is that simple, fits the agenda!

(Please pass this on) Em, please don't unless you really, really agree with the sentiments in it!

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:
Absolutely no way are these the best sentences you will ever read!!

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
IMHO the people who are calling for change, although they wish for a fairer system, they don't just want to rob the rich, as the 1% have robbed the poor, they want to move to a system that provides opportunities for all, something that we cannot claim exists everywhere right now, no matter how blind we are.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
Oooh how beautifully and cleverly crafted to once again load the suggestions that you shouldn't contribute to help others because they're all just lazy-asses!

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. Suggestion - Government is and always will hold the power and the answers!! What if the people took their power back instead and together crafted something new.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!  Such a small statement but yet it contains so much. In this context it suggests that wealth comes in only one form and that is money!! Real wealth however can be found in many places and caring and sharing is one of them. It also suggests that the amount of money available is the only amount that will ever be available and that maybe some simple monetary distribution from Weapons and Military to Schools and Hospitals would not increase the wealth of nations exponentially.

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
Once again, dividing the world into two! Keep them separate, keep them separate, can you hear it? And once again people who are unfit for any reason simply fail to exist! And yet so conclusive, eh? Shaking my head vigorously and disapprovingly.

Oh Yeah, did I also mention this stories already been de-bunked a few years ago and most likely isn't even true!! See link at end of post.

I am not a socialist, I am not a conservative, I am not a liberal or any other label people use to define me but I am a human being who has seen through the illusion of lack and the systems we have in place and I want and know we are capable of more.

All I ask is that as each of you continue on the path of conscious living that you be aware, not wary as the powers that be would like, just aware. You have the power to transcend any amount of B.S. by cultivating love and compassion within you, oh yes and a little forgiveness never goes amiss either, especially just now. There are many who are not yet ready to rise into a higher vibration and they will use every trick in the book to keep you there too, but you really do have a choice, always.

Two of the phrases I often mutter to myself at this time as I watch the drama continue to unfold are -
"There are no b**tards, only those who've not seen the light."

This reminds me how lonely life can be when we live separate from our connection to the divine and all that is and allows compassion to flow through me. This has been particularly useful lately as I watch the chemtrails filling the sky above my home! See here.

"Forgive them father, for they know not what they do."

This to me is the most perfect reminder that many within humanity, are still at the mercy of their conditioning and still living unconsciously in lower vibrations of fear, guilt, anger and greed and the resultant behaviour isn't great. As I've now been consciously cultivating higher vibrations within myself for some time, I feel the difference when the daily toils get a grip and I fall into stressful thinking. The impact on our body and life force is huge, and it makes us so much less resourceful to change anything. Getting angry, is useful, if it fires you up to take action but staying angry is never good, it damages your immune system and leaves you open to dis-ease, so compassion is a much more effective state to be in. Not only will it inspire you to do great things it will also help lift the vibration of those around you and help them break free from their own and our collective illusions.
Though there will be times when it's necessary to step away from the world to recharge, re-group and re-member (become one) when we do and re-connect with All that is, we see once again that we are one with all of humanity, one with those living in low consciousness and controlling the world, one with the Ascended Masters and Angels and one with this magnificent, majestic Universe where everything has a purpose. We realise we're here to play a role in the grandest illusion of all, so why wouldn't we make it the best possible story?

When we open our heart to the whole of humanity, we open our heart to our one true self and here awaits the path of divine purpose where all the power in the Universe joins you on your mission. Force is no longer required, things become more effortless and life becomes more joyful, it doesn't mean the work is over and you don't still have things to transform in the physical but now you have super-heroes on your team!

For now I'd like to leave you with these beautiful words by St Augustine that I came across recently.

"The truth is like a lion. You don't have to defend it. Let it loose. It will defend itself."

Love & Light Always,
Rashelle

No Nuclear Dump in the Lake District (updated with webchat with Baroness Verma answering carefully selected questions)

On 30 January 2013 the executives of Cumbria, Allerdale and Copeland County Councils will vote on whether to continue with Government plans to build an underground nuclear dump in the Lake District of up to 25km square. Scientists from the Government’s Nirex investigation in the 1990s onwards have made it categorically clear that an underground nuclear depository is not safe in mountainous areas of high waterfall where radioactive waste is likely to leak into the water table, where the geology is unstable as in the whole of the Lake District region, with multiple cracks through which radioactive material could escape.

There is no scientific evidence that an underground nuclear repository would be safe anywhere, and yet the Government is determined to continue with its plans to bury waste anywhere people can be persuaded to take it. Voting No would force the Government to take a more responsible attitude in its plans for nuclear expansion – burying the waste out of sight is not the safe answer to this dilemma.

Please use whatever method you have, Facebook and twitter, email everyone in your contacts list, use whatever means you can to help us spread the word and be able to demonstrate to politicians the groundswell of opinion against this proposal.

For more information please go to www.noend.org.uk

Watch the newsreel from the local news below which clearly states that "the majority (of the local parish) said they were not consulted or properly informed" which is directly opposite to what those who are making the plans and decisions have said. Putting newsletters through doors and arranging special activities is all very well and good but it would appear that it is misdirection because it will be "decades before the work begins".... Ever get the feeling that informing the public is just a procedure and that the decisions have already been made?

Baroness Verma webchat: answering questions about geological disposal in west Cumbria

Thursday January 17, 2013
9:05

DECC Team:
Good morning everyone. Baroness Verma will be here at 1200, but in the meantime if you would like to send questions in advance, please do so via the text box below.

11:23
DECC Team:
[Private Message to Jade Ashcroft] Hi Jade
we'll publish questions as Baroness Verma answers them. if we publish every question then the stream becomes very difficult to read.  (Reply Privately)

11:56

DECC Team:
Hi everyone. We're nearly ready to start. Thanks for all your questions so far.

12:01

Baroness Verma:
Hi everyone. Thanks for joining us today. I hope to answer as many questions as possible within the hour. We've already had a very high number of questions - lots of interest!

12:02

Comment From Steve Nicholson
If the Councils decide to vote yes on 30 January when can we expect to see the drilling of boreholes, seismic testing and the inevitable disruptions on our roads?

12:02

Baroness Verma:
Hi Steve. If the councils vote yes, this is beginning a process to gather evidence and identify potential sites. The activities you mention will be many years away and no sites have been identified as yet.

12:04

Comment From Lois Lane
Will DECC and/or NDA ever contemplate an engineered GDF beneath the National Park, if the geology is less than safe?

12:04

Baroness Verma:
Hi Lois. Safety is paramount. A GDF cannot be built unless safety can be demonstrated to the independent regulators.

12:06

Comment From Peter Clements
Why can't we recycle the nuclear waste rather than dumping it underground?

12:06

Baroness Verma:
Afternoon Peter. Not all waste is suitable for recycling. We still need to deal with a substantial nuclear legacy, and geological disposal has been recognised worldwide as the most appropriate disposal method.

12:09

Comment From C. Lane
Why can't improved above-ground storage be invested in now, to give time to develop a better long term solution? This would guarantee local jobs during and after construction and allow the nuclear newbuild to go ahead as planned

12:09

Baroness Verma:
Good afternoon. The NDA is already investing in improved above ground storage at its sites. We need robust storage in the interim, and ultimately GDF is the safest and most secure long term solution.

12:13

Comment From Di McGhee
Why are you continuing with this process, spending scarce public money and blighting our best National Park, when 2 senior geologists state that West Cumbria is totally unsuitable and a third, employed by the MRWS, states that the chances of a ' suitable rock volume' being found is low?

12:13

Baroness Verma:
Hi Di. We are aware of the views of these two individuals. I am engaging in dialogue with them, however their views are not widely shared among the geoscience community.

12:15

Comment From David Calvert
It has been said that money will be made available to bolster the Lake District brand if we proceed - isn't this a clear admission that the effect on tourism will be catastrophic?

12:15

Baroness Verma:
Hi David. We recognise these concerns, and are sensitive to local industry. We want to ensure that we are doing everything possible to help support their brand. The nuclear industry and tourism have coexisted in Cumbria for many decades now.

12:18

Comment From Eliza Rice
The MRWS Partnership process is supposed to produce a report to advise and inform the DMBs. Several of its members, including the Chairman, were actively involved in the preparation of that report are also amongst the 24 councillors, who make up the DMBs - How can this be considered democratic?

12:18

Baroness Verma:
Afternoon Eliza. The MRWS Partnership produced an excellent report that was culmination of three years of hard evidence gathering. It is only right that locally elected representatives are at the forefront of this process. In fact, we have had excellent engagement from all councils in this area.

12:20

Comment From Eric and Sue Hope
At the public meeting last Friday, in answer to questions from the floor, many of Alun Ellis's responses were in the future assumed category. This suggested that the dump was already a 'done deal'. Can the Baroness confirm that this is not the case?

12:20

Baroness Verma:
Hi Eric and Sue. Absolutely! The councils have not yet decided to participate further in the process, and their vote is about whether to particpate and not about building a GDF in Cumbria.

12:22

Comment From Morag Dean
Why are the conclusions of the previous NIREX enquiry (which cost the tax payer over £400 Million) no longer relevant?

12:23

Baroness Verma:
Hi Morag. The NIREX inquiry was a planning application for an underground laboratory at a specific site. The data gathered is still available for any future process, but we still require much more information on the geology.

12:24

Comment From Dr David Lowry
Given that both ministers and the NDA have made clear that the radioactive waste placed proposed repository will have to be retrievable should anything go wrong underground requiring the removal of the nuclear waste already emplaced, could the minister explain whether an engineered above ground store with sufficient capacity to contain ALL nuclear waste retrieved in such circumstances will be built at the same time as the underground repository as a necessary contingency; and can she give an indication of the area above ground such an emergency store would require; and whether details will be made explicit in any planning application, so the people living in the local community will have a full picture of the footprint above ground of such a repository development?

12:24

Baroness Verma:
Afternoon Dr David Lowry. The question of retrievability is still open and will be considered throughout the process, with communities.

12:25

Comment From Chris Bagshaw
Does the government have a view on MRWS anywhere other than West Cumbria?

12:25

Baroness Verma:
Hi Chris. This process is open to communities across the country, and will remain so regardless of how the councillors vote at the end of January.

12:27

Comment From Paul Dean
Would a partly engineered solution, as suggested in the MRWS Executive Report August 2012, be guaranteed to last a million years?

12:27

Baroness Verma:
Afternoon Paul. Any GDF will be a state of the art facility, which will use multiple barriers (including packaging, enginering solutions and the natural geology).

12:29

Comment From Sam
I’ve heard that the only suitable geology is around Silloth and Ennerdale and that both communities have said they don’t want to host a waste repository.  So what’s the point of continuing to look for a site in Cumbria?

12:33

Baroness Verma:
Hi Sam. No sites have been identified. This is a clear case of scaremongering! Until the councils have taken a decision to move onto the next phase and allow further work to be done, we will not know enough about the geology to take a definitive view.

12:34

Comment From Sandra
Why have communities only been consulted on this since the decision to delay was made by the Councils on 11th October?

12:34

Baroness Verma:
Hi Sandra. The MRWS Partnership in West Cumbria has spent three years consulting the local community.

12:37

Comment From R Hoyle
As a geologist, I may suggest it a really BAD idea to bury nuclear waste in the same region FRACKING has been destroying underlaying geological beds.

12:37

Baroness Verma:
Good afternoon. No fracking has taken place in Cumbria. Any applications for shale gas development, anywhere in the country, will be subject to rigorous scrutiny, environmental impacts, and of course local community views.

12:39

Comment From james mc bride
can the Baroness say if the disposal of this type of waste in this area mean any real jobs for the people of Cumbria or will it be jobs only for those outside of the county, and can she say what if any the environmental impact this type of disposal will have at ground level and below ground

12:39

Baroness Verma:
Hi James. If the councils decide to move on to the next stage, and a suitable site can be identified (and demonstrated to be safe), there will be major economic benefits, job creation, and investment for Cumbria.

12:41

Comment From Ian
What is your view on community benefits? if the local authorities did move to stage four, when do you think benefits should be available to the community?

12:41

Baroness Verma:
Afternoon Ian. We are clear that there will be a substaintial community benefit package for any community hosting a GDF. The timing and scale of any Community Fund would be discussed at the next stage of the process.

12:45

Comment From CB
Assuming the councils give the go-ahead for a search to start, how long would it take before an underground store could be up and running?

12:45

Baroness Verma:
Good afternoon. If the councils agree, the next phase will begin the process of being able to investigate the geology. It would be many, many years before any facility could be opened.

12:47

Comment From Rod Mostyn
As at 12:25 your answers would suggest you are strongly in favour of a GDF in Cumbria. Is the Governments mind already made up?

12:47

Baroness Verma:
Hi Rod. This government has always said that GDF is the best long term solution for disposing of nuclear waste. But, we have also always said that this has to be community led, and that the geology has to be suitable.

12:48

12:50

Comment From KC
The nuclear and tourism industries have co-existed successfully in West Cumbria for 50 years, and in fact the industry has been a major draw for visitors. Do you see any reason why that could not continue?

12:50

Baroness Verma:
Hi KC. I agree - any faciity will be state of the art, and would ensure Cumbria remains at the heart of the nuclear industry for decades to come.

12:55

Comment From CB
How many is "many, many years" in regard to opening a facility? 5, 10, 15, 20 years?

12:55

Comment From s. sherwen
And presumably many many years before any permanent jobs become available

12:56

Baroness Verma:
Hi CB and S. Sherwen. The NDA has said that 2040 is a likely date for the first waste to be disposed. But we will see job creation at least 15 years in advance.

12:57

DECC Team:
Five minutes to go, only time enough for a couple more questions.

12:58

Comment From C. Lane
How can Cumbria County Council and the two Borough Councils vote to proceed to stage 4 of the MRWS process when no legally binding right of withdrawal has been secured from Government?

12:58

Baroness Verma:
Good afternoon. The government is committed to making the right of withdrawl legally binding. We are minded to do this through new primary legislation, subject to parliamentary time being available. However, we have always said that at every phase of the process the councils would have the right to withdraw.

1:00

Comment From KC
Do you think it's fair that former employees of Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth can call public meetings and claim to be "independant" geologists, whipping up a public scare, without revealling their vested interests in a no vote?

1:00

Baroness Verma:
Hi KC. Everyone has the right to their view, but any decisions by councils need to be based on the best available evidence, and scaremongering tactics by any group shouldn't play a part in the process.

1:03

Comment From Alison
Sellerfield was state of the art but has been left to decline . Who will be around in 200 yrs time ??? will a government even exist ?

1:03

Baroness Verma:
Hi Alison. This is a very interesting question. We have a responsibility to safely and securely dispose of the nuclear waste we have, rather than leave it in temporary storage indefinitely for future generations to deal with.

1:05

Baroness Verma:
It's been a really interesting session, and the questions have been wide-ranging and challenging. I hope that I have been able to address some of your concerns and comments. Thank you for taking time out to engage directly with us today!

DECC Team:
Ok that's it. Thanks to everyone who sent in questions and watched the event. We will take a look at all the unanswered questions, theme them and publish answers as soon as we can.

Chemtrails?? Scotland - 4th January 2013

I've always lived close to an airport, this is the first year I've seen this regular!!DSC_0076
(Pictures taken 4th January 2013 in Paisley, Scotland)

Chemtrails or Contrails?

Fact or fiction?

Beliefs or Lies?

Apathetic, Curious or Conditioned?

Purpose driven or Survival Driven?

It’s a funny old world, there is no doubt!
And there’s many words that hold lots of clout.
Something’s off, it’s plain to see.
And, at what cost to you and me?

I’d rather be wrong than be right,
But it seems to me a dreadful plight!
Haven’t we got it? What’s taking so long?
How we’re treating the planet is wrong!

Our world, our children are depending on you,
So tell me please, what will you do?
Will you keep quiet and hide in the dark?
Or decide right now, to make your mark.

The time has gone now when we failed to see,
The truth that was hidden from you and me,
An abundant Earth for all to share,
When we stop competing and start to care.

For me, the question I often ask,
What’s the agenda hidden behind the mask?
What do they gain from the stories they fuel,
Millions of money or potential ridicule?

Stop the stories before they start,
Tune in, listen to your heart.
Hear it’s calling, what’s it say?
Is it really to look the other way?

The truth is out there, so they say,
Yet it’s in the heart the wise choose to play.
You know the answers, you always did.
Just think back to when you were a kid.

Our minds are conditioned, it’s a fact of life,
Is yours conditioned for trouble and strife?
Do you feel powerless, strong or weak,
Repel your magnificence? Just to be meek?

It is not by shrinking and remaining unheard,
That we diminish the power of thing’s that we dread,
It’s like reassuring a child at night,
All we need, is to switch on the light.

Put the pieces together and it’s easy to see,
The illusion that played out around you and me,
There is no lack, we have the solutions we need.
Yet many continue in the game of greed.

Changing within, really does change without,
It’s up to you to raise your voice and shout!
I write for me and all I hold dear,
This world needs love, let go of the fear.

Whatever your label, we need to stop the fight.
This battle is not to we won by might.
The elite, the kabal, the 1%
It's ALL consciousness, that’s what they meant!

The sages, the saints, the Masters of past,
They paved the way and we got here at last,
Be thankful for they have led the way,
To humanity’s brightest day.

Transcending the drama’s all well and good,
And we can still do that while protecting our food,
Let us never forget with what we’ve been blessed.
As we focus on creating heaven manifest.
